Friendster’s Beta Homepage and the new Yahoo!

Beta Homepage of Friendster (not yet available in some countries)

Friend1small I got a sneek peak at the new upcoming release of the Friendster beta homepage. A new sleek and fresh new look from one of the web’s most top social-networking website. What I really like about the new facelift is the "buttons" which resembles like that in Windows XP (kinda look Vista though). I sense that they use AJAX, combination of Javascript and XML, realtime change that doesn’t put load on the Friendster server but on the client side itself. New content has been added such as "most grabbed", "latest"….something like that. But of course they will add some until they unveil it and release it from beta stage. I was able to experience this beta because my account settings default country is US. Which does allow users from that country (and some allowed countries as well) to experience the beta and partake to their survey. CSS designs on the profile have also changed but not to the extent that you need to re-design everything. Just minor like the new code name of the Navigation bar above that had been centered. As I look through my profile, I also found some code changes of the "more about xxx". So far, the beta was awesome. I can’t wait for them to unveil it.

Yahoo’s new Facelift. A new re-designed Homepage

Yahoo1small The new Yahoo Homepage was now based on AJAX (like that of Google mail). What’s new is the ability to sign-in on the page and see your username on the yahoo page itself. So that you can access all your tools like yahoo groups located on the left panel, ability to see who’s online by hovering over the messenger button on the top righ as well as your mail, weather, movies and radio. There many new added tools on the left panel that make your Yahoo experience a lot more easier. Over all, the new page can make a huge improvement on the user especially yahoo users.
